One of the benefits of having a show like The Mentalist in your rotation is that you can dip in when you want without feeling as if you have to make a weekly commitment. The truth is, hes about to discover that, for him, becoming a teenager means growing. Sundays are so crowded this fall, it's unlikely most viewers have room on their "must watch" lists for this still enjoyable procedural, but that's OK. In 'Mockingbird Lane,' sweet little Eddie Munster (Cook) is a normal kid about to enter the horrors of puberty. Simon Baker and crew hit the 100th episode mark with a flashback to the day Patrick was first introduced to the CBI team. No one outside of the show knows whether the TV version of the character is going to travel the original's path, but just in case, yeah, brace yourself. Still, tonight the show promises to take an even darker turn, as the series introduces one of the comic book's most infamous characters: The Governor, played here by David Morrissey. It's probably unnecessary to warn Walking Dead viewers to brace themselves, as by now anyone watching this violent fright-fest should be permanently braced. The other is that this odd introduction for this proposed series, which stars Jerry O'Connell, Portia de Rossi and Eddie Izzard, is either a burn-off or a tryout - and considering the day and time, "burn-off" is most likely. NBC is billing this pilot for a Munsters reboot from Pushing Daisies' Bryan Fuller as a Halloween special, which is one way to look at it.
